Michael Rothman
Mike is the president and founder of Cornerstone Analytics. Prior to forming the Firm, he was a Senior Managing Director and head of ISI’s integrated oil research. He joined that firm in February 2005 and built the company’s energy research platform. Mike has been rated #1 for Independent Energy Research by Institutional Investor magazine since 2006.
Prior to joining ISI, Mike was the Chief Energy Strategist and Co-head of the Global Energy Team for Merrill Lynch which was #1 in the Global Research Survey by the Institutional Investor magazine. He joined that firm in 1984, and was responsible for formulating the company’s short, intermediate and long-term outlooks for the petroleum and natural gas markets, which were integrated into the Company’s commodity, equity, debt, strategy, economic and emerging markets research.
Mike continues to serve as an outside consultant on energy market matters to government and quasi-governmental organizations, and he has attended Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) meetings since 1986.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Business Economics, and a Masters of Science in Applied Economics/Econometrics, both from Rutgers University. Mike is married and has 5 children.
